Private, never covert

Privacy Promise

Last updated August 19, 2026

Ear Copilot is designed for one person to receive private assistance while remaining present with other people. Privacy is a product constraint, not a setting buried in a menu.

The short version

  • You explicitly start every listening session.
  • Live speech recognition uses on-device processing and fails closed when that is unavailable.
  • Ear Copilot speaks only after it verifies wireless or wired headphones as a private output route.
  • Removing or changing that route stops private playback.
  • Optional cloud reasoning is off by default and requires deliberate configuration.
  • We expect everyone present to know that AI assistance is being used.

Website

This website does not use advertising trackers, third-party analytics, or marketing cookies. The Founding Access form prepares an email in your own email application; the website itself does not store the address you type. If you send that email, your email provider and ours process it under their own terms.

Microphone and live speech

When you start a live session and grant permission, Ear Copilot uses the selected microphone to understand the moment. Live recognition is required to remain on-device. If the iPhone or language cannot provide on-device recognition, the live session does not start rather than silently sending audio to a speech server.

Ear Copilot is not intended for hidden recording. Use it only with participant awareness and in compliance with the laws and policies that apply to you.

Private audio output

Before speaking, Ear Copilot checks the current route. Known private headphone routes can proceed. Unknown Bluetooth or generic wired routes require confirmation because a vehicle, speaker, dock, or mixer may look similar to headphones at the operating-system level. Playback is rechecked at the moment it begins and stops when privacy cannot be confirmed.

Local data

Session context, prepared speeches, confirmed notes, and settings can be stored locally on your device so the product can work offline and remember only what you choose. Controls in the app let you review or delete supported local data. Deleting the app also removes its local app-container data, subject to ordinary device backups managed by you or Apple.

Calendar and imported material

If you grant calendar access, Ear Copilot uses eligible upcoming events to help prepare you. Declined and irrelevant events are excluded from the brief. If you import a speech, permitted transcript, link, or document, it is used for the experience you requested. Ear Copilot does not claim automatic access to another app’s private audio or transcript.

Optional services

Default conversational reasoning is local. If you deliberately enable an optional authenticated cloud reasoning service, the app may send a limited text context needed to answer the request; the app should disclose that state before use. Optional daily-email delivery sends only the email address and a user-confirmed derived digest—not raw audio, full transcripts, or calendar events—to the configured delivery service.

Founding Access communication

If you ask to join the beta, contact us, or send feedback, we receive the information contained in your email. We use it to respond, manage beta access, improve the product, and share essential testing information. We do not sell that information.

Your choices

You can decline microphone, speech-recognition, calendar, contacts, notification, and other permissions. Some features will not work without the permission they directly require. You can stop a session at any time, disable optional cloud features, remove imported material, and ask us to delete Founding Access correspondence we control.

Security and early beta limits

We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards, including fail-closed private-route checks and content-minimal sharing paths. No system can promise absolute security. Founding Access software is still being validated across devices and audio routes, so report anything unexpected immediately.
